Innovation meets craftsmanship

tesa launch comprehensive new products for professionals

tesa is expanding its professional range for painters and craftspeople with several new products. The focus is on three innovations: 2in1 Professional 4460, Silicone Precision Masking Tape 4455, and the self-adhesive protective paper Professional 74922 help painters and craftspeople achieve high-quality results despite increasing workloads and growing demand for renovation work. With these new launches, tesa once again underscores its expertise in innovative and practical solutions for the crafts sector.

Unique Solutions for professional requirements

What makes tesa 2in1 Precision Masking Tape special, is that it can be applied only once but can be used twice. After applying the first layer of material such as plaster or sealant, the top layer can be easily removed using the integrated finger lift. The second layer is revealed and can be used when applying the next layer of material. With UV resistance of up to 6 months, the product ensures precise paint edges and optimal results.

tesa Silicone Precision Masking Tape is a newcomer to the market with its combination of washi paper and silicone coating. It enables adhesion to silicone and other difficult-to-bond, dirt-repellent surfaces while delivering the sharp paint and lacquer edges expected from a precision masking tape.

The new self-adhesive protective paper Professional 74922 is a professional-quality kraft paper that provides effective protection against paint splashes and scratches on various surfaces. It can be effortlessly applied, repositioned, and removed without residue – ideal for efficient protection of floors, stairs, and window sills.

“With our new product solutions, we specifically address the challenges that craftspeople face daily,” explains Christoph Bossard, Head of Marketing Specialised Trade Europe, at tesa. “The shortage of young talent and skilled workers in the industry and the growing demand for renovation work due to demographic change will lead to a bottleneck in the sector. Through our innovative solutions, we want to help save time while achieving optimal results.”

Sustainable product development in focus

With the new products, as well as the further development of the overall portfolio for painters and craftspeople, tesa places particular emphasis on sustainability. The new, large-format covering paper is made from recycled material and is FSC-certified. The solvent-free adhesive underscores tesa’s commitment to more sustainable product development. In addition, a large portion of the precision masking tape range will be converted to FSC certification by the end of the year. Since April 2024, tesa has introduced 13 new product solutions in the crafts sector, including duct tapes with a recycling content of over 60% in the backing film, with further additions still to come later this year.
