Valspar expands to the outdoors and more

The Valspar name has a long heritage, having been established in the USA for over 200 years. Valspar was introduced to the UK exclusively at B&Q in 2013, with Valspar Trade following suit in 2015, extending the brand’s distribution with B&Q into TradePoint centres.

The new and improved range now includes a vinyl matt, plus range of exterior products alongside some reformulations of existing products, all of which have undergone rigorous ISO testing to prove they perform on the key areas important to the trade. This includes, application and splatter, coverage, scrubbability, stain resistance and overall appearance.

The new exterior paint range consists of Masonry Smooth paint, Masonry Stabiliser and Exterior Direct to Wood and Metal paint.

Valspar Trade’s innovative SeasonFlex™ technology means that Masonry Smooth can be applied in temperatures as low as 2ºC, helping to extend the painting season into the colder months. It’s showerproof after just 30 minutes and is also weather and dirt resistant. Sprayable straight from the can, it’s ideal for larger projects.

Valspar Trade’s Direct to Wood & Metal paint in gloss, eggshell and satin can be applied directly to rust with no primer, and the water-based formulation mean it’s quick drying and showerproof in just 30 minutes.

All of the paint products in the exterior range are available ready mixed or tintable using Valspar Trade’s superior colour offering that can colour match to 2.2 million colours, meaning your customers will never be disappointed when it comes to finding their perfect match.

The walls and ceilings range offers Tough Matt and Tough Silk for superior durability, stain resistance and covering power. They’re now joined by a Vinyl Matt that provides high opacity, covering up to 16m2/l, with low odour and VOCs, in Pure Brilliant White.

New quick drying wood and metal primers have also been added to the range, providing strong adhesion, ideal for achieving that perfect finish.

To complement the product developments, the full range has also undergone a packaging re-vamp, with a vibrant new look designed for easy product identification in store.
